Both of these Jingle discs are NOT like the other.....

Going through some of the tanner stuff I have, I found 2 5001 Lps.....apparently there was a "R" version of 5001, which I will assume is revision, despite the fact it has a totally different label, or maybe this is where the company decided to change the labels? Who knows.

So, 2 tanner Lps this month, which seems to have different jingles on them. Enjoy!

First just the 5001 disc

  1. Here it is, folks - The first record of the Creative Sales Service!
The "-R" record has the kind of sound - and the same short-lived six 30-second tracks on each side - that Pepper-Tanner records had in 1970 or so. "Automobile Repair" and "Used Cars" have a little of that "new contemporary sound" creeping in.

  2. There's a great page where you can get a general idea of when some records were made.

According to the RCA-Victor section, the "P5RM" on the 5001 labels means:
    P - The year code for 1963
5 - The lacquer master was sent to an RCA pressing plant
R - 12-inch record, 33 RPM. The 5 being placed before the R, not after, means it was pressed in the first half of the year.
    M - Mono
I noticed that Creative Sales Service records were apparently pressed at an RCA pressing plant from 1963-64, then elsewhere afterwords. Tanner used Frankford & Wayne during the 70's.

  3. I also notice that the first Creative Sales Service record has jibgles in alphabetical order. The Tanner Total Sound Library tried the same thing, but when side 1 of 3002 was grocers and side 2 was tires, I figure they kinda knew they couldn't keep that up.
